Reduction of breasts in men – gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is an increase in male glands in males and occurs quite often. The enlarged gland is surgically removed. Small breast enlargement in teenage boys is a normal phenomenon that does not require treatment and is lost in time. Sometimes, however, the condition does not change and persists into adulthood. Gynecomastia may affect one or both of the breasts. Breast enlargement can also occur in adulthood, most often with regard to the use of steroidal anabolics. Sometimes it’s just about fatty tissue growth – we’re talking about pseudogynecomastia. Depending on the type of gynecomastia, the selected type of surgery is used.
Operation in case of gynecomastia requires general or tumescent anesthesia. The incision is led to the border of the pigmented nipple and skin in the lower half of the nipple. Therefore, the resulting scar is well hidden. During surgery, the entire enlarged gland is removed. In the case of pseudogynecomastia, liposuction of the breast area is performed, in the case of a combination of gynecomastia and pseudogynecomastia it is a combination of these procedures.
